How to update your Xbox Controller

Microsoft has released a November update for Xbox in November 2021. On November update includes an Xbox controller update. However, some players delayed updating their Xbox. They cannot use the features of the November update. That’s why they want to know how to update their Xbox controller. What brings the Xbox controller update

  1. Plug your controller with a USB cable into your Xbox’s USB port.
  2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the top of the controller.
  3. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

  5. Open the Settings
  6. In the settings menu, find Devices and connections, then press it.
  7. Find accessories option on the menu
  8. Chose your controller which you want to update
  9. You will see the Xbox Wireless Controller screen
  10. Navigate the “…” option to check firmware updates
  11. Select the Firmware version, you can choose which one you wanted. We recommend using the latest one.

Updating your Xbox controller Wirelessly

If you have a controller is made after June 2015. you can easily update it wirelessly. Those Xbox controllers are capable to take updates is including a stereo headset update. To update it wirelessly, you need to follow the steps below.

Quick reminder: you need to plug your headphone jack into Xbox wireless controller’s 3.5-mm port.

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
  2. Selecet profile&system
  3. Open settings
  4. Find Devices & connections
  5. Open accessories
  6. Chose your Xbox controller
  7. Press the “…” button
  8. Press “update”
  9. Your console start to update as quickly as possible

How to update it on PC?

Some PC gamers use Xbox controllers to utilize their game experience. If you are one of them, you can update it with a PC easily.

You need to download and install the Xbox Accessories app on Microsoft Store.

  1. Open the Xbox Accessories app.
  2. Connect your controller with your PC via USB.
  3. When you connected your controller, you will see Update require massage.
  4. Press the update button.
  5. Your PC automatically updates your Xbox controller.
